FlavorDraft Privacy Policy
FlavorDraft is a personal recipe organization and automated note-taking app. This Privacy Policy explains what information FlavorDraft may collect, how it is used, and the choices available to you when you use the FlavorDraft application and related services (the “Service”).
Information we may collect
Account information
If you choose to create or connect an account, we may receive information necessary to authenticate you, such as your email address, account identifier, and basic profile information provided by authentication services such as Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.
Apple or Google may limit the information they share with us according to your settings. For example, Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose Hide My Email.
Recipe and cookbook information
FlavorDraft stores information you choose to save in your personal cookbook, which may include:
- recipe titles
- ingredients
- preparation steps
- serving information
- notes
- collections
- favorites
- grocery-list information
- recipe source URLs
- source or creator attribution
- recipe images where applicable
- changes or adaptations you make to recipes
Your saved cookbook is private by default. FlavorDraft does not currently place your saved recipes into a central public recipe library for other users to browse.
Content you ask FlavorDraft to process
When you ask FlavorDraft to import or interpret a recipe, we may process information from the specific source you selected.
Depending on the source, this may include publicly available:
- webpage text
- recipe metadata
- captions or descriptions
- audio or spoken information
- limited visual information needed to understand the recipe
- source links and attribution
FlavorDraft processes this information to create or improve the private recipe notes you requested.
FlavorDraft is designed around user-directed imports. We do not automatically add recipes from the internet to a public FlavorDraft recipe catalog.
AI interactions
If you use AI-assisted features, we may process the recipe context and the instructions or questions you provide.
For example, you might ask FlavorDraft to:
- make vague cooking steps clearer
- adjust serving quantities
- suggest substitutions
- reorganize recipe instructions
- adapt a recipe for a preference
- turn a dish idea into a recipe
Information needed to respond may be sent to third-party AI service providers acting as service providers to FlavorDraft.
Device and technical information
We may receive limited technical information needed to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the Service, such as:
- device and operating-system information
- app version
- network or request information
- crash or diagnostic information
- security and abuse-prevention information
How we use information
We may use information to:
- provide and maintain FlavorDraft
- authenticate users
- save and synchronize a user’s cookbook
- process user-requested recipe imports
- generate structured recipe notes
- provide AI-assisted recipe features
- create grocery lists and other user-requested features

We do not sell personal information. FlavorDraft is not designed around advertising.
Private cookbooks
Recipes and collections saved in FlavorDraft are intended to function as a user’s personal cookbook. They are private by default.
FlavorDraft does not currently operate a public community recipe feed or automatically publish users’ saved recipes for other FlavorDraft users to discover.
If sharing or public publishing features are introduced in the future, users should be given clear controls before their private content becomes public, and this Privacy Policy should be updated accordingly.
User-directed recipe processing
FlavorDraft helps automate actions a user could otherwise perform manually when taking recipe notes.
A user selects a recipe, webpage, video, social post, or other supported source and asks FlavorDraft to process it. FlavorDraft may then analyze relevant information from that source to create structured notes for that user’s private cookbook.
Where available and appropriate, FlavorDraft attempts to preserve information identifying the original source or creator and a link back to the source.
FlavorDraft does not claim ownership of third-party source content.
Service providers
We may use third-party service providers to operate FlavorDraft. These may include providers for:
- cloud infrastructure and database services
- authentication
- AI and machine-learning processing
- security and abuse prevention
- diagnostics and operational reliability
For example, FlavorDraft currently uses Supabase for parts of its backend infrastructure and authentication system, and may use AI technology provided by companies such as OpenAI and Google for certain recipe-processing or assistance features.
These providers may process limited information on our behalf when necessary to provide their services. Their handling of information is also governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account and cookbook, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect FlavorDraft and its users. The exact retention period may depend on the type of information and why it is being processed.
When you delete information from FlavorDraft, some copies may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or systems where immediate deletion is not technically practical, or where retention is required for legitimate legal or security purposes.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information handled by FlavorDraft. However, no internet-connected service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
