FlavorDraft Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 4, 2026

FlavorDraft (“FlavorDraft,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a recipe capture, organization, and cooking-assistance app. This Privacy Policy explains what information FlavorDraft processes, why we process it, how it is shared, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Process

The information FlavorDraft processes depends on how you use the app.

Account and profile information

FlavorDraft can be used before you sign in. When you use the app as a guest, we may create an internal anonymous identifier so the app can operate features such as imports, entitlement checks, and later account restoration.

If you choose to create or connect an account, we may process:

your FlavorDraft preferred name or nickname;
identifiers associated with Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In;
an email address if your sign-in provider makes it available to FlavorDraft;
your account identifier and authentication/session information;
your onboarding and cooking-profile preferences, such as cooking goals, household/cooking preferences, measurement settings, and related app settings.

We do not require you to provide a legal name.

Recipes and cookbook data

FlavorDraft may process and store information you create or save in the app, including:

recipe titles, ingredients, steps, servings, notes, and other recipe fields;
favorites, collections, grocery-list items, and recipe organization data;
recipe edits and versions;
source platform, source URL, creator/site attribution, and other provenance information associated with imported recipes;
recipe images you add yourself, such as photos from your camera or photo library.

Saved recipes are private to your FlavorDraft account or device unless you choose to share them.

User-directed recipe imports

FlavorDraft lets you import recipes that you choose from supported websites and social/video sources, including by sharing content to FlavorDraft or pasting a link.

To perform an import, FlavorDraft may process information available from the source you selected, such as:

the source URL and source identifier;
page text, recipe markup, captions, titles, descriptions, or other written recipe information;
public creator/site attribution;
audio or spoken recipe information when needed;
selected visual information or frames when written or spoken evidence is not sufficient.

FlavorDraft may temporarily fetch or process media needed to perform the import. Source videos are not saved as part of your FlavorDraft recipe library. Imported recipes retain source/provenance information when available so you can return to the original source.

Third-party recipe images and thumbnails

When you import a recipe from a third-party website or social/video source, FlavorDraft may download or cache a source thumbnail or cover image locally on your device so the recipe remains visually stable while you use the app.

FlavorDraft does not use its account backup storage to permanently copy third-party source images into your FlavorDraft cloud backup. Instead, FlavorDraft may retain source information such as the original source URL, platform, creator/site attribution, source identifier, or last-known image location, and may re-fetch or refresh the image from the original source when needed.

If the original image is changed, removed, restricted, or otherwise becomes unavailable from the source, FlavorDraft may show a fallback image instead.

Technical refresh intervals for source-image URLs are used only to determine when FlavorDraft should try to obtain a current source image location. They are not intended to represent legal ownership rights or a promise that third-party images will be retained for any particular period.

Images you provide

Photos you add yourself, such as images selected from your photo library, captured with your camera, or manually assigned to a recipe, may be stored with your FlavorDraft account where backup/sync is enabled so they can be restored on another device.

User-provided images are treated separately from third-party source thumbnails and covers.

AI features

When you use AI-powered features, FlavorDraft may send the information needed to complete your request to an AI service provider. Depending on the feature, this may include:

recipe text and structured recipe fields;
the recipe source material needed for extraction;
images or selected visual information you explicitly provide or import;
your chat message or instruction;
the current recipe context needed to answer or propose a change.

AI processing is used to provide features such as recipe extraction, recipe clarification, suggested modifications, and conversational recipe assistance.

Subscription and purchase information

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. FlavorDraft uses RevenueCat to help determine subscription status and entitlements.

FlavorDraft may receive information such as:

whether a subscription or trial is active;
product/plan identifiers;
purchase and renewal status;
an internal customer identifier used to associate entitlements with the app.

FlavorDraft does not receive your full payment-card details from Apple.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, FlavorDraft processes your notification preferences so it can deliver the types of notifications you choose to receive. iOS controls whether FlavorDraft is authorized to send notifications.

Technical and service information

When FlavorDraft communicates with its backend or service providers, standard technical information may be processed for security, reliability, and troubleshooting, such as request metadata, IP address, app version, device/operating-system information, and error information.

Advertising measurement

FlavorDraft advertises on Meta’s services, such as Facebook and Instagram. To measure whether those ads lead people to install and open FlavorDraft, the app includes Meta’s app events software. When you open FlavorDraft, the app lets Meta know that it was installed and opened. Meta’s software sends this with technical information, such as an identifier it creates for this installation, when the app was opened and how long it stayed open, device and app details (including device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and time zone), and your IP address as part of the request.

FlavorDraft does not give Meta’s app events software your recipes, ingredients, instructions, recipe or imported links, search queries, grocery lists, collections, AI prompts, preferred name, or email address. FlavorDraft does not show Apple’s prompt asking for permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and it does not collect your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA). How Meta may use this information is described under “Meta” in Section 3.

2. How We Use Information

We use information described above to:

provide and operate FlavorDraft;
import, organize, edit, sync, and restore recipes;
personalize the app using the preferences you provide;
provide AI-assisted recipe features;
maintain source attribution and links for imported recipes;
manage account sign-in, restoration, and deletion;
determine subscription access and restore purchases;
send notifications you enable;
measure whether FlavorDraft’s ads on Meta’s services lead to app installs and app opens;
protect the service from abuse, fraud, and security threats;
diagnose errors and improve service reliability;
comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your recipe content for third-party targeted advertising.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service Providers and Third Parties

FlavorDraft relies on third-party services to operate certain features. Except as described for Meta below, these providers process information only as needed for the services they provide, subject to their own terms and privacy obligations.

Supabase

FlavorDraft uses Supabase for backend services such as authentication/session support, database storage, account sync, server-side functions, and storage of user-owned content where applicable.

Apple

Apple provides App Store distribution, in-app purchase and subscription billing, notification infrastructure, and Sign in with Apple where you choose to use it.

Google

Google may process information when you choose Google Sign-In. FlavorDraft may also use Google AI services for AI/visual processing where needed for supported features.

OpenAI

FlavorDraft may use OpenAI services for AI-assisted extraction, structured recipe processing, conversational recipe assistance, or related AI functionality.

RevenueCat

FlavorDraft uses RevenueCat to manage and interpret App Store subscription entitlements and purchase state.

Recipe source services and websites

When you direct FlavorDraft to import a recipe from a third-party website or social/video service, FlavorDraft may access the public source you selected as needed to perform that import. Your use of those third-party services remains subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

We require service providers to handle data consistently with their contractual and legal obligations. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

4. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide FlavorDraft and for legitimate security, operational, and legal purposes.

In general:

account-linked recipes, profile information, preferences, and synced content are kept while your account is active;
local app data may remain on your device until you delete it, sign out where the app clears local data, or remove the app;
temporary import-processing data is kept only as long as reasonably needed to complete, retry, secure, or troubleshoot an import;
source images cached locally may remain while the related recipe remains on your device;
service providers may retain limited transaction, security, or operational records under their own legal obligations.

When you delete your FlavorDraft account from inside the app, FlavorDraft deletes the account and associated account-linked data from its active systems, except information that must be retained for legitimate legal, fraud-prevention, security, dispute, or accounting purposes. Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups until those backups cycle out.

Apple’s App Store purchase history and subscription records are controlled by Apple and are not deleted by deleting your FlavorDraft account.

5. Account Deletion and Subscription Cancellation

FlavorDraft provides an in-app account deletion option.

Deleting your FlavorDraft account is separate from cancelling an App Store subscription.

If you have an active auto-renewable subscription, deleting your FlavorDraft account does not cancel that subscription. You must manage or cancel the subscription through your Apple ID/App Store subscription settings.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You can control much of your information directly in FlavorDraft.

Depending on the feature, you can:

edit your preferred name and cooking preferences;
edit or delete saved recipes;
remove items from your grocery list or collections;
choose whether to sign in or continue using supported guest functionality;
control notification authorization in iOS Settings;
sign out;
delete your FlavorDraft account from inside the app.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may also give you rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or other action regarding your personal information.

We may need to verify that a request relates to the correct account before acting on it.

7. International Processing

FlavorDraft and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal and contractual safeguards for international processing.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by FlavorDraft. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

FlavorDraft is a general recipe and cooking application and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to FlavorDraft in a way that should be removed, contact support@flavordraft.app.

10. Third-Party Content and Links

Imported recipes may originate from third-party websites, creators, or social/video services. FlavorDraft may preserve the source name, creator/site attribution, and source URL when available.

FlavorDraft does not control third-party websites or services, and this Privacy Policy does not govern their privacy practices.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as FlavorDraft changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.

Continued use of FlavorDraft after an updated policy becomes effective is subject to the updated policy, except where additional consent is required by law.
